Wholesaling Jewelry - Terms and Conditions

I am starting a business selling wholesale diamond and pearl jewelry. I have got a catalogue and also samples to sell, but I am not sure if I need a terms and conditions for the retailer when they place their order or buy from me.

I have invoices and also order forms, and wondered what to do about terms and conditions?!

I hope you can help? Thanks ever so much for this insightful wesite.

Terms and Conditions for Wholesaling Jewelry

In a couple of my articles I briefly discuss terms and conditions for wholesaling :

Wholesale, Retail, Sample Sale - Jewelry Pricing Terms.

I would also recommend that you visit the websites of several larger jewelry stores and check out their terms and conditions to get an idea of the areas you need to address.

Basically your terms and conditions should spell out clearly what's expected of you, and of your customer - so there can't be any quibbles later.

Once you have your terms and conditions drafted, I strongly recommend having a lawyer look them over for you. This small expense up front can potentially save you horrific headaches and expenses later!

I hope this helps - and I wish you every success with your new venture!

Also make sure you have stated your minimum opening order and minimum re-order quantities.

You don't want to overwhelm them with 500 pages of legal stuff, but be sure you have all the basics covered.

Hello, I would like to get orders from shop owners in other states without showing up in person. How would you suggest I go about it?
