You can also check in the classified sections of magazines that serve the wholesale jewelry, fashion, handcrafts, and gift trade (such as Niche, Ornament, CraftsReport, etc.). Often you'll find ads that can provide good leads. Also, if you know any shop owners who do wholesale buying, ask if they know any good sales reps they could recommend to you. You can also ask any non-competing professional artisans you know if they can recommend a good rep. Also, visit the Switchboards Forum - there are lots of jewelry designers and other creative artisans there working at a professional level.
