I had a friend over who was helping me set up for a show recently, and she commented on my marketing techniques. (Which was nothing at the time.)
She used to help her sister set up wedding booths for trade shows way back before she was a realtor, and she had a great tip for me:
She told me to get a bit of candy, wrap it in a cellophane bag, and tie my business card to it with a bit of tulle. Thinking this was an EXCELLENT idea, I went a bit further…
I found a heart-shaped hole punch in my old metal clay supplies, and punched a hole in the corner of my business cards. I found a seller on Etsy.com who sold tulle by the spool, and I bought 2-25 yard spools of the hottest pink she had.
I ordered a 10 pound bag of jelly beans from Amazon.com and wrapped them up for my show. They were cute, but didn't have the pizzaz I was looking for.
So, when I got home and was preparing for another show, I found another seller on Etsy who made handmade mints that she could personalize! These mints had rave reviews, so I thought I would try them.
I sent her an email asking if she could work with me, and this is the photo she sent me back:

She had already personalized some of the mints with my logo! They were SO adorable, how could I refuse?
So, I placed an order for 5 dozen, and I was amazed when they arrived. They were the cutest things I had ever seen. Tiny mints with my logo on them, mixed with hearts and gemstones.
On top of this, they were delicious, too! I ordered the butter mint flavor, but she probably has 20 different flavors on her website.
So, I wrapped them up just in time for my show:

. . . and they were the biggest hit!
Every single person I handed them too was amazed at how cute they were! I got comments like, "Aren't you clever!" and "People will never forget who you are!" also "These are too cute to eat!"
That night, I had 67 hits on my blog, and I hadn't posted anything in a couple of weeks. The only thing I can attribute this too was those adorable candies!
