Starting a Jewelry Business

One of My Pieces

One of My Pieces

Hi my name is Danielle. A few months ago I started a jewelry business on Etsy encouraged by a friend.

I actually was apprehensive because I had never started an online business. I first started by calling my shop ParadiseChic. I love things that are fun and unique. So I incorporate that into my pieces.

I have made jewelry for friends and family and I have also repaired jewelry that people have had in their jewelry box.

I am just starting out but so far I have found it to be a rewarding experience. When I make jewelry I feel like it is like breathing air, it just comes natural. I couldn't imagine a day without creating.

I also enjoy the many talented people on Etsy and try to support them where I can. We are all a team.

I keep working to improve my shop and it is one day my desire to do this fulltime. It takes patience and a lot of hard work, but it is so rewarding!

Hope you enjoy my experience! Kind regards and happy jewelry making.

Danielle

Hi Danielle,
Congratulations on starting your new jewelry business~ Your necklace is very beautiful and very unique.
When I first started out in my business I felt the same way as you do. At times to this day I still need support and encouragement. We are a very competitive business and we need our Team of jewelry designers to stick together to help and support each other.

Happy jewelry making to you and best wishes for a sucessful business.
Cheers!

learning to be a business minded artist

I am also new to jewelry business, and etsy in particular. It is a steep learning curve, and I have very much enjoy all the tutorials, teams and discussions that etsy has to offer. I have a presentable little shop on etsy and have used the things I have learned there to improve me sales table at the local farmer's market and even got brave enough to approach a local shop to take some of my necklaces on consignment. I have subscribed to this great little newsletter by Rena, and am learning more about the business side of art every day. The real plus side is the networking with people like myself - creative and wanting to at least break even financially, but not professional artists with a business team behind them. It's been a great ride so far...
