I got into jewelry art after a series of steps in the learning process that evolved into the current jewelry making way of life.

Yes, for me, it is the creation of something beautiful for others or myself that is liberating... the final cherished product, the enjoyment it brings others and the satisfaction that it came from my heart and soul.

Originally I started with ceramic classes, free- forming and glazing clay with a variety of colors and firing the finished product in a high-temperature kiln.

I created the human form using live models, recreated ancient pottery from pictures of Oriental works of art and Southwestern Indian artifacts.

Inspiration for something - almost a calling - followed in creating something smaller, something mobile, a work of art that can be shared by everyone on a day to day basis.

Why not use the same process involved in creating ceramics and apply it to making handmade beads with exquisite designs and colors, add some crystal, semi-precious stones, silver or gold plated accent pieces and present the final product for everyone to enjoy?

Thus SMS designs was born.

My goal is to inspire within you an appreciation of art, to share with you and to add a little more happiness in everyday life while you pursue your goals.

The magic comes from within and in wearing a necklace, bracelet and earrings made with you in mind, a certain confidence is added to your presentation in the world.

You will feel that same energy that inspired this artist and your sharing of this energy to others will make the world a kinder and gentler place....
