Showcasing Jewelry in a Public Library

I would like to share with you my recent experience for showcasing my dichroic glass jewellery and I thought it might be of help to others just starting out or with a limited budget for advertising.

The Bundaberg Regional council provides a free facility for its ratepayers to display their creations to the local residents.

Immediately inside the entrance to the library is a display cabinet with 4 x 2m glass shelves and overhead lighting. It is perfect for my jewelry.

Thousands of people pass the display over a two-week period and notices giving my phone number and email address have been most successful.

I cannot speak for other councils, which is best left to individuals to approach their own authority.

I have been working with glass for over 20 years and for the past 10 years I have been designing and creating a range of jewellery using exotic dichroic glass.

I mostly sell my work to galleries, gift and jewellery shops in many states of Australia as well as internationally.

I have just recently started selling my work on eBay and Etsy.

My first blog post is about my experiences with the display at the library and I have included photos of the cabinet and my work.

I am a contemporary dichroic glass artist, creating a unique range of jewellery made by me and sold internationally from my home studio called Harmony Cottage.

I am frequently asked 'where my inspiration comes from' for my jewellery designs. All around me. . . in my daily life, where I live and also in my travels.

I live and work next to a beautiful beach on the Coral Coast region in Queensland. A stunning beach to walk on every morning to watch the sun rise, the many animals and birds of this area . . . very inspirational!

I love to work the amazing colours of the exotic Dichroic glass and each morning I experience an excitement when I open the kilns and a thrill when I discover that the pieces are equal to or even better than my expectations.

It is a great joy to share the passion of my life’s work. 'It is a gratifying feeling to enhance someone’s life with something that brings them pleasure.'
