I sell online on etsy. I have a shop called ParadiseChic.

I am still working on my shop, but I am working on making better descriptions, I also didn't realize that I wasn't using the material section, so now I try to list all of my materials and size of pendants and such.

I am slowly working more on my photos so people can see all the details. I read from one person that when they are shopping for jewelry they look for the sparkle and the light, so I am trying to capture that.

I hope this will help me with my sucess. :)

Need I say more, lol? Your skill in taking photos will evolve over time, but it's important to work on it. There are several good articles on etsy and the net in general to learn about your macro settings etc. Photos that show the item in detail are important, but also try and create some kind of atmosphere, either romantic, classic, funny etc. whatever suits your item best. Experiment with different backgrounds. Some people like very plain backgrounds, other opt for more interesting varieties. Don't put too much into the photo to take away from the item itself.

I agree that the materials and item tag sections are very important, same with the item title and the first sentence of your description. There are some important SEO (search engine optimization) articles available on etsy.
