Selling handcrafted jewelry isn't always easy. My name is Eva Polynice, co-owner of a very new company called "Belle Pour La Vie". I know the difficulty in breaking into the jewelry business because I'm still going through it. But I've picked up some helpful tips along the way: How to Start Selling Handcrafted Jewelry- Make sure you have some jewelry pieces in the latest styles. But don't make all your jewelry according to trends, because when the trend dies - so will your sales. Right now pearls and very long necklaces are in for the summer and fall. Always read magazines and look ahead at what designers are coming out with to keep up with trends.
- When you're first starting out, choose art and craft shows that don't charge a high vendor fee. A high cost of participating in the show can eat up your profit when you're in the stage of developing your jewelry lines and building a customer base.
- Always wear your jewelry. I can't tell you how many people stop me and ask me who made my necklace. It really helps in getting exposure.
I hope these tips help you on your journey to sucess. Good luck with selling your handcrafted jewelry, and remember to have fun!
