I spend a lot of time in my studio working, preparing for shows and adding items to my shop. Many times I've been asked to teach what I do, but honestly, I have yet to find the time.
I do bead shows once a month and try to list daily on my Etsy shop. Somehow, that leaves little time for much else.
I have a shop on Etsy that seems to get a decent amount of traffic. One day I realized I could make a tutorial, save it as a PDF and sell it in my shop.
Anytime someone bought it, I would just send them the tutorial via email and re-list the item.
I took plenty of photos and basically wrote a step-by-step guide to making a polymer clay pendant and framing it in sterling silver should you desire. I edited and re-edited so that anyone could do it (even those who have never worked in polymer clay before).
I wrote sales copy that was clear and concise and would hopefully answer any questions that might arise.

The last thing I did was to put it out there . . . I put the picture of my PDF tutorial in my Flickr account, facebook, twitter, newsletter and my blog trying to reach everyone I could! If I couldn't use the picture, I'd link it directly to my shop.
The feedback has been wonderful.
People who have never worked with polymer clay have contacted me about their success. I've been able to reach people that I would have never been able to reach.
And - I'm still in my studio!
So, if you have something you'd like to teach but don't have the time - give it a shot!
