Scheduling Jewelry Parties - Are Some Days Better Than Others?

by Sharon
(New York)

Is there a day or days of the week that has proved better for having a home jewelry party? For example, do more people tend to come on a weekday evening or a weekend afternoon?

I have only had one party so far, on a Sunday afternoon, which was convenient for me, but I am not so sure it was the best choice.

Scheduling a Jewelry Party
by: Rena

The best days and times for jewelry parties tend to depend on where you're located and what group is attending the party.

For example, where I currently live Wednesday nights and all day Sunday are major church times for a lot of folks, so Wednesdays and Sundays are not good days to plan anything else here.

Do the majority of your guests work at the same company? If so, having the party on their payday can be very lucrative timing for you!

If you do a weeknight party, having open-house hours of 5:00 till 8:30 could accommodate people who want to swing by on their way home from work, as well as moms who need to feed dinner to their families before they go to the party.

Parents often need to take their children to soccer, etc. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, plus Saturday mornings.

So if your guests will include a lot of moms, you might aim for Friday nights and Monday nights anytime between 5:00 - 9:00, and Saturday afternoons anytime between 1:00 - 6:00.

Many people have plans for Saturday nights, so Sat. after 6:00 that may not be a good choice; also many religions hold their weekly services on Saturday night.

Check with your hostess to see if her guests will be comprised of any particular demographic, so you can try to find a time that will work for the majority.

I hope this is helpful!

I'd also love to hear other thoughts and experiences on this issue.
