Question: I have a website through GoDaddy and I'm not having any success. I heard that you need to have links to and from your website so that it will have a higher ranking and more people will see your site in search. How do you go about getting other websites to have links to yours?

Getting Search Engine Traffic

The best way I've found to get traffic in the longterm is to write search engine optimized content articles and post them on your website or blog.

Since people are most often looking for information on the internet, rather than looking for products, this is a better way to get both longterm traffic, and to build non-salesy relationship with your potential buyers first, and then get the sale later.

This is known as "preselling".

How to get search engine traffic? All you have to do is look for search terms that are related to your items, and write keyword focused articles. Link to them from your index page (your home page on your blog or website) using the keyword term as your anchor text. (anchor text is the word or words that are hyperlinked).

If all this sounds confusing, it's really not.
