Are you like myself?

I am constantly working on improving my web-store's SEO, social networking, linking, advertising, refining my branding, gallery and directory submissions, taking photos over and over again, uploading them, creating detailed descriptions, buying supplies, making jewelry, tending to orders, doing research, designing my own banners- logo- business cards- flyers, webmaster of 2 sites, booking fairs- trade shows, emails, calls....

My mind is boggled by all the tasks and information!

But then I realize, I'm frazzled and I need to get in touch with the real world outside of me and my other half (my laptop!).

So I take a casual walk to the local plaza where the faces are all familiar.

I take my stack of business cards out and I start putting them everywhere - grocery store card holders, tables at the cafe, in the bathroom stalls, public phones, ATM machines, Spa counter, doctor's office with the magazines.

I even purposely throw the occasional card on the floor because humans are curious by nature - maybe they'll get noticed and picked up!

And that does happen - my answering machine holds evidence that the cards do get noticed!

Business cards and postcards are an inexpensive advertising investment.

Put them in every nook and cranny and see what happens.

Some get thrown out and some get attention, but this is the reality of a business owner.

Don't underestimate the response from your local area, because people feel confident when dealing with others from the same community. Anything close to home feels familiar.
