Turquoise and Silver Pendant by Jewela
"These gems have life in them, they speak, say what words fail to."
~ George Eliot
Dear Rena,
The above quote is a true reflection of how I view my jewelry-designing business - it's a passion.
I'm an Egyptian jewelry designer living in the United Arab Emirates.
My passion for jewelry started years and years ago, as my sisters and I saw our mother's collection of unique and antique jewelry pieces.
In September 2009, we started our small business - designing silver jewelry with precious and semi-precious stones.
Today, after only three months of starting our business, we managed to produce many unique pieces (pendants, rings, chokers, etc.) that attract the attention of everyone.
Each piece we design and produce either has a story behind it, or is a story by itself. We pay attention to the smallest details.
Our packaging stands out, and our displays are so attractive that sometimes I'm asked if I could sell some of my card-board mannequins.
During the past three months, we managed to participate in few jewelry shows.
We still have a long way ahead of us before our business grows into the type of business we aspire to have.
Though we want to see the success of our business as soon as possible, yet we're not rushing things. We're taking things step by step in order to establish a good image for our brand "Jewela".
Today, I want to share with you and your readers one of our first and most admired pieces, a turquoise and silver pendant.
The pendant represents a hand-engraved silver casing (or small basket).
The silver piece can be filled with nice-smelling flowers (like jasmine or roses). The smell of flowers, while wearing the necklace, is enchanting.
Along with the silver basket comes another pendant, a big turquoise piece framed with silver.
The turquoise pendant can be worn alone or fixed into the silver casing to make a unique piece where the blue turquoise color is visible from behind the delicately hand-engraved silver.
I hope the attached picture gives you a clear idea of how the necklace looks like.
You can view more of our designs on our website www.jeweladesigns.com. However, not all our designs are shown on the website.
I'd be happy to share with you and your readers other "Jewela" designs, pieces that carry stories from our hearts.
Lastly, I would like to thank you for a very informative website, which has been of great help during the initial stages of setting up our business. And we still learn a lot from the different articles and ideas of other jewelry designers.
Sincerely,
Mahitab Shamseldin
