Do you offer your customers the option of hosting an online jewelry party? Many of us jewelry designers have done home jewelry parties, and have had much success.

I want to tell you of a new form of jewelry party that is gaining in popularity, and will save you (and your hostess) the work of an in-home party.

What is an Online Jewelry Party?

An online jewelry party, or e-party, is very similar to a traditional in-home party. Really, the only difference is that it is conducted from your website, instead in person at your home or your hostess' home.

Jewelry e-parties are gaining in popularity due to our increasingly busy lifestyles.

How many times have you been invited to a home party, be it Tupperware, candles, bath/body products, etc, and just groaned because you didn't have the time nor the energy to go? Or you didn't want to feel pressured into buying something just because you were there?

Online parties resolve these problems for your customers. They also save much time and work for you, since you don't have to lug your merchandise to and fro, set up tables and displays, and drive to other people's homes.

How a Jewelry e-Party Works

Online jewelry parties can last anywhere from one evening to two full weeks. At an online party, someone will be the hostess of the party. This person will earn incentives, such as free jewelry and discounts, just like at an in-home party.

The hostess will usually contact you, wanting to host a party, and you can then email her an invitation to forward to all her guests. The email invitation should include your website URL, a description of your jewelry and items, incentives for purchases, and the date and time duration of the party.

For the duration of the party, the guests can come and go on your website as they please, at their own convenience. This is the key to success of an online party: There are no demands on the guests' time, no heavy sales pressure, no getting stuck in traffic on the way. They join the party whenever it is convenient for them, shopping from their own computer and at their leisure.

Promoting Your Online Jewelry Parties

There are many different ways you can promote and handle your online jewelry party. You can have a page on your website devoted to online parties, listing some outstanding hostess incentives to encourage customers to host one.

You can have potential hostesses email you for more information, whereby you can send them a hostess pack.

To keep track of all purchases made during the e-party, you can provide the guests with a special code to use, or have them enter the hostess' name in the comments box at checkout. This way you'll be able to credit the hostess accordingly. You can even offer a guest incentive, such as being entered in a special drawing for a fabulous piece of jewelry, or perhaps getting a free gift with every order.

You can incorporate many of the same things into your online jewelry party that you would in a traditional in-home jewelry party, such as gift-wrapping, taking custom orders, even have a few party games! However you choose to add online jewelry parties into your business, just know that they offer convenience to your hostess and guests, save you some time and work - and best of all, they're fun for everybody!
