Simple design which has brought me the most new customers
My husband had been pushing me for years to take my jewelry business
to the next level, move beyond local craft venues and donations to
local charities. After a very frustrating couple of years with no
luck at finding a job, we agreed to step it up and expand my business
into a full time job.
As I have been out of work for so long the capital we had to invest in
getting my name out there was limited. As I have plenty of inventory
in which to make jewelry, so I had to get creative with marketing.
I went to my best customers and asked them for testimonials I could
use in pamphlets, flyers, website or other printed materials (which I
create myself). In trade for their help I provided them with a small
amount of jewelry to wear with the intent to offer my business
card to anyone who inquired or commented on the jewelry. In the two
weeks that my five marketing subjects have been wearing my pieces
I have received many networking leads. My test project has proved
to me that the creativity used in making my jewelry has also served
me well in marketing my business.
