Metal jewelry tags are becoming increasingly popular with jewelry artists all over the world. These tags are attached to various jewelry items to clearly identify the artist's name, initials or logo:

They show pride in craftsmanship. Simply put, a professional looking jewelry tag presents your mark to the world.

Blank Metal Jewelry Tags

Jewelry artists can choose blank 24-gauge sterling silver tags in a variety of shapes and sizes; 14k and 18k gold tags are also available in limited configurations. The tag size is chosen to fit the dimensions of the logo or image to be stamped on it. These can be manually marked with a straight jewelry stamp or in a press with the Hallmark jewelry stamp.

The TagMate

The TagMate is a compact, auxiliary-marking device developed by Infinity Stamps, Inc., specifically for marking jewelry tags of all shapes and sizes. It's easy to use, and is simpler and more efficient than any marking tool ISI has tested in the past.

The TagMate is comprised of two parts, a base and a cap. It's shown below along with a jewelry straight stamp:

The base is 1-1/4” in diameter by 1-1/2” high, and the cap is 1-1/2” in diameter by 1-1/2” high. A recess is milled on the top side of the base and, when desired, a second recess of another shape and size can be milled on its underside. The recess is custom milled to snugly accommodate any blank jewelry tag placed in it for marking.

The cap features an opening designed to allow the insertion of a jewelry straight stamp, specifically produced to fit only one way. On the end of the straight stamp below is a logo ready to be stamped on a jewelry tag:

How to Use the TagMate:

Set the TagMate base on a workbench. Place a blank jewelry tag inside the custom milled recess and cover the base with the cap. Insert the jewelry straight stamp with its flat side facing forward, hold the cap with one hand, and with your other hand strike the stamp with a hammer. Repeat to mark as many jewelry tags as needed.

TagMate assures that every tag will be uniformly marked with the design perfectly straight and centered. Compare the tag stamped without TagMate (on the left) to the one stamped with TagMate (on the right):

The TagMate has been thoroughly tested by ISI, and proven itself to be an ideal device for marking metal jewelry tags.
