Jewelry Kits and Tutorials
Another way to profit from your jewelry business

I have always loved teaching others how to make arts and crafts. In fact, you might say that teaching has always really been my first love. But I am only one person - I can't teach the world. Or can I? I took my love of teaching to my jewelry business. That meant that I had to learn about taking good photographs and how to properly edit them. And I had to learn how to express in words what I could show others to do with my hands to go along with that picture.

Then I thought, "Why not give the customers everything they need to make the jewelry piece except for tools?" And that's how I came up with my Creations by Janice Learning CD and Kit. You just need to find out what your real love is and then make it into something that everyone wants. My kits have a CD tutorial that features full color pictures and complete descriptions for each step. Additionally, all the materials to make the jewelry piece are included. All my students have to add are their own tools and they soon have a beautiful piece of jewelry, one that they've created themselves! I also offer just the tutorial for those who already have their own materials. This has opened up a whole new avenue for sales for me - the want-to-be jewelry artisan. So now I sell handcrafted jewelry to those customers who want my one-of-a-kind jewelry, and I sell kits to customers who want to learn to make their own jewelry.

You want to find your passion and figure out what you can do with that. I have also gone to my local school for the blind and taught jewelry making classes. This was very challenging, but I learned so much. It taught me that I must not rely on pictures, but to also let my words describe the actions as well. And the simpler the instructions, the better - lots of people who buy my tutorials are beginners, so having a detailed description helps tremendously. Find your passion and let it lead you to where you want to be in the wonderful world of jewelry!
