It's Less Stressful to Shop for Jewelry Online

I tend to buy more jewelry online than elsewhere. One reason I prefer to buy handmade jewelry online is that often when I go to craft fairs, the sellers don't have prices on their jewelry, or they have the price tags hidden so you have to ask them how much an cost items.

This is embarrassing to me, especially if the item costs more than I want to spend. Then I don't know how to leave their booth politely!

So I like shopping for handmade jewelry online, where I know the price of an item right away, and can compare it to other items before I make my final choice.

As an artist who sells at many craft fairs I would like to offer you an easy way to exit a booth when you are done shopping but do not want to make a purchase. Simply smile at the vendor and offer a compliment...like, your work is very beautiful. I hear that many times over the course of the day but I never get tired or hearing it :)

Thanks!

We sell at several art shows in the central florida area, and I agree with you. All our pieces have price tags you can clearly see. I don't like having to ask either if I were the buyer.

Visit our online store see address below.

Thank you for supporting the actual artist. We count on your purchases to keep us going. We make all our own glass and incorporate into our pieces that become one of a kind wearable art. Our quality is more than what you get from mass produced items. Visit our online store at www.jandmjewelrydesign.com or visit our glass gallery where you can buy our glass to make your own pieces at

Visible prices are important to me as well.

I agree that having an item priced so that it is visable is very important to shoppers and browsers alike. It's important to make the experience carefree and pleasant even if the individual isn't interested in purchasing.

Craft Fair buying versus online buying
by: Dawn

Thank you for your comments. I have an online store - www.sunshineindustries.ca - but I also sell at craft fairs a few times a year. Your experience should never be uncomfortable at either venue! Our prices are always shown upfront and there are always pieces in every price range. If there are some independent artisans NOT showing their prices on each piece, shame on them. Customers should know what the materials are, what the cost is and be able to try anything on at a craft fair...

I'm a more shy person who feels exactly as you do about shopping - especially when shopping for something you love! It should be a fun, comfortable, stress-free experience... sort of like being at the spa, but for jewelry. : )
