I Prefer Jewelry with Unusual Features

I had once attended a sale for Bengali hand crafted jewelery held near where I was staying. The jewelry displayed had a wide range and the styles were varied.

I remember I had bought two pieces of jewelry.

One was a rice pearls necklace and tops set, the pendant and tops were heart shaped. There were these tiny minute peals embedded and the cream and gold finish was wonderful. I was tempted to buy it and I still use that set even many years after buying it.

The second thing which I had bought was something between a bracelet and a bangle. This ornament had the shape of a bangle but it had a mechanism with which it would be opened, worn on the hand and secured with the latch.

This bracelet was very, very beautiful and it had some splendid workmanship that I was almost in tears when I had to return it due to a defect in the ornament. They did not have another piece of the same design and I was not ready to buy another design after having set my heart on the earlier one.

There was heavy rush at the sale and I would have preferred if it was a little organised. But I would surely visit it again if they organise it again, jewelry artists can make something truly different from the usually available lot displayed at stores.

Try to make intricate and colorful designs.

Provide alternative mechanisms of using the same jewelry.

I stay in India and Calcutti designs are popular among women who love traditional jewelry.

Hand crafted jewelry is unique and different and it is lovely. I had bought it because the design was very tempting. I had just gone for a look and ended up buying two different kinds of jewelry.
