I Need to See Detailed Photos

by Sherrie Nagle

When I buy handcrafted jewelry I tend to buy it at Etsy.com. Though you can't actually touch and examine the jewelry in person, I think there are a lot of advantages to this sort of marketing versus, say, a craft fair.

First, good photography can illuminate small details that I wouldn't necessarily see if I were looking at a whole booth full of merchandise.

That would be my biggest tip for crafters looking to sell stuff online - learn to take really nice, really high-quality photos. I know that's the biggest draw when I'm looking at places like Etsy.

I've bought for both myself and others, particularly for birthdays and holidays. If I liked an artist enough, I absolutely frequent that online shop again.

Thank you for mentioning Etsy as a great site to find really hand made (by Artisans) jewelry. Since I have joined as a shop owner, I have enjoyed the friendship of other shop owners and I like the creativity and originality I have seen there. Since I am new to internet selling, I am learning all the time from great tips like Rena's collection.
Please come and see my work and by all means, leave me comments and helpful advice. Thank you Rena. I appreciate your efforts to help us to be successful. K

I'm learning too!

Thank you for your input, it's so important to the learning process. I have good sales at both fairs and home shows, and am wondering why my on line salse are non-existent so far. All this feedback is so very helpful! I think I have top notch pics and descriptions of the jewelry, maybe it's the exposure I need to step up?

Thanks!

Thanks so much for this comment. As a relatively new jewelry seller on Etsy, I appreciate all the help I can get. I think I may have some photos to retake! But still, feel free to stop by & check out my shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/lauriescustomcreate
