I Like Jewelry with Small Flaws and Imperfections

by Kelli Galligher
(Colorado)

When shopping for hand crafted jewelry I normally look at craft fairs.

I like handcrafted compared to mass-produced because I like the idea of one of a kind items, and I like the potential for there to be small flaws and imperfections in the pieces.

In addition, I feel that hand crafted items have more character to them.

I also like the fact that it is possible for me to order a custom piece at a reasonable price.

I have purchased from the same artist more than once because I liked her work and she was at a few of the craft sales in my area so I was able to see the items she had for sale.

My experience I had when shopping was enjoyable because it was a craft fair and because it lent a different vibe to the situation.

I do not have any specific tips for artists other than creating a web presence and possibly online selling of items through shops such as Etsy - with great pictures, business could be expanded quite a bit.
