How to Sell Hundreds of Designer Earrings!

Selling designer earrings like crazy - deal of the day!

Selling designer earrings like crazy - deal of the day!

What an amazing start to February!

Thanks to my web designer I recently discovered the world of 'daily deals'. Now we may have given the world pavlovas, vegemite and splayds (ignore those New Zealanders who claim the pavlova) but this is straight out of America and pure e-commerce, read Groupon, LivingSocial, Jumponit, the list goes on and on...

Having subscribed to Cudo (an Australia-based daily deals website) I decided to design a product and duly offered the concept for consideration, which to my delight was promptly accepted.

As Cudo had not previously offered designer jewellery it was accepted as a trial run and featured as a side bar offer and promoted Australia wide with my offer of FREE postage.

Check out my blog post How to Sell Hundreds of Designer Earrings on how I determined what to design, how I contained costs, the amazing response and what I believe the benefits to be both short and long term.

Then see my Glamour Girl Earrings Tutorial that shows you how to create the earrings that were featured in my Deal of the Day.

What a thrill that day must have been! Absolutely awesome strategy. Thanks so much for the inspiration to try new ways of selling jewelry - you never know when you might hit the jackpot.

Thank you so much for sharing this neat idea, Heather!

You're a marketing phenom!

I really think you have the ability to make it in the business. You seem to have a business intuition which I believe not all creative jewelry making people have. Your ideas were fascinating to read about. Very helpful and insightful.

Thanks girls!

What's that old saying...think outside the square!

Business is a little tougher these days and we need to be alert to all opportunities, so if my story inspires just a handful of others I will be thrilled.

Not sure what came first Kim, the creativity or the business acumen, but 10 years as a National Buyer with Australia's largest retailer had a huge impact, then again maybe I just market creatively :)

Congratulations!

Fabulous Heather! You are so right about selling jewelry in this market, it's tough and requires creative thinking and dedication. Well done on your part!

How many choices did you offer?
by: Paige

Hi Heather,

Did you stick to just one design or were you able to offer a selection for the customers to choose from? How does that work?

Thanks,
Paige

Kept it simple!

Hi Paige

Check out the link to my blog post for full details, but briefly, one earring design, 3 colours.

My initial thought was the white pearl and then I thought why not give buyers a choice and offer red also - after photography was done I thought why not add black onyx - I love presenting in uneven numbers...something so right about the symmetry of it! so back to the camera again!

Best seller? the black onyx!

Love it!
