Custom Etsy shop banner for Curvy Girl Jewelry

You may recall that I wrote about how I decided to start up my new Curvy Girl Etsy shop with jewelry designed for large women.

I just added a new banner to my shop and I'm pretty happy about how it looks.

I wanted a plump mermaid to be the "spokesfigure" for my shop and I turned to a talented illustrator and cartoonist, Ned Sonntag.

Ned has been the exclusive cartoonist for Betty Boop for years. He loves big women and how they look and has quite a few illustrations of them.

Ned designed my mermaid to my specifications (wearing earrings, necklace and bracelets, looking into a mirror) and sent me the drawing.

I then went on Etsy and posted a request for a graphic artist to turn her into a banner.

The graphic artist, Susana, added color, waves, sea grass and the name of my shop. I think she looks awesome now in her underwater home.

Thank you for sharing how your banner came to be. How totally cool that the Betty Boop artist created your wonderfully curvy mermaid!

Thanks also for the idea of working with multiple artists to create a banner - one to create the art, and a second to design a banner incorporating it.

I love how even the waves and the font are curvy in your banner.
