Add Some Spice to Your

Home Jewelry Party

Ready to expand activities at your home jewelry party? After you've gotten a few parties under your belt, you might like to branch out a bit and offer your clients additional services. These ideas do require extra attention and time, so be sure you have "hired" helpers for your party. Here are a few ideas!

Custom Design Jewelry

In addition to ready-made jewelry, have a selection of loose stones, beads, charms, and crystals displayed. Allow guests to pick out what they'd like in a bracelet, necklace, earrings, brooch, wine glass charms, etc.

Place selections in a baggie, labeled with the client's name, phone number, item to make, size, and any other pertinent information.

Don't worry if they didn't pick "enough" beads for an entire piece - you know what they want and can fill in as needed. Price items based on assembled cost, and provide the client with a date when it will be completed.

Jewelry Class

Have some ready-made jewelry available for purchase, but teach a pre-chosen project to a small group of people. Choose your project and get everything set up ahead of time. You can allow guests to pre-sign up for the class or sign up as they arrive (not everyone may want to make their own jewelry!) Just have a few extra kits available for anyone who decides to join in the fun!

Wish List

Perfect for pre-holiday parties: Have guests fill out a wish list for items they'd love to receive as a gift! This will save time for the folks who are purchasing gifts for your guest, and will ensure their gift is exactly what the giftee wants! Your wish list form should include:

  • Specific item(s) the guest is interested in - Include a detailed description (product number, name, description), pricing and perhaps the guest's priority if they have chosen multiple items.

  • Contact information - Significant other, spouse, children, parents, friends, etc., Get phone numbers, email addresses, however they feel the person would like to be contacted. Ask the guest to mention to each contact that you will be following up with them. A call out of the blue is akin to a cold sales call and is not as likely to be conducive to sales.

  • Other special dates or occasions - Ask if the guest would like you to contact anyone on their list for birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, etc. Mark these dates in your planner for follow up.

Be sure to follow up with each and every person on the completed wish lists within a few days. While this takes a little time, the results are very good - you are providing a service to busy people who may not have time to shop! Include a small gift box and bow with your purchase, or offer to wrap it for an extra nice touch.
