Display and Packaging Tips
for Home Jewelry Parties

dancing jewelry display

I have been making glass bead jewelry for more than 15 years, and have finally brought my dream into reality. One of the things I am most passionate about is display and packaging. I use very feminine figures like the one above to enhance the feel of the presentation.

When I set up my craft room for home jewelry parties, the theme is FUN and FEMININE! I had a custom design sign created for the entryway:

. . . and set up a display in my craft room:

When I read your article on finding the right name for your business, I questioned myself on my choice of "Dancing Beads" - but it felt so right I just couldn’t use anything else.

I have always loved to dance, and nothing in life seems to express joy quite so well. When I was a child, I could never sit still at the dinner table. I would always get up and dance around the room after each bite (still do sometimes). Fortunately my parents indulged me, and I continue to associate dancing with joy and personal expression.

I have been attempting to name my jewelry using dance terms, which has proven to be very challenging. My discovery of a dance terms website has been helpful. Here's an example from my site:

"Copper Calypso Bracelet - A song and a dance, a little romance.... you're ready for it all in this little jewel!

Gorgeous amber glass combines with copper to create an eye-catching bracelet you'll love to wear. The center bead is an opaque amber-toned square angled between two large copper bead caps.

This bracelet includes unique square beads with clear glass surrounded by copper. At 7 1/2 inches, it is finished with a copper toggle clasp."

For creative jewelry displays, I like to use these delightful photo holders that I found. They are inexpensive and interesting:

I have also incorporated my love of rubber stamping into my jewelry displays. I had a stamp created for my business, and use these displays for home parties:

Rubber stamps come in such a wide variety of styles, from elegant to casual, and offer ways to create interesting presentations. I've also used them in my jewelry packaging:

I appreciate this opportunity to share these ideas and network with others who create jewelry. I hope my ideas can provide inspiration!
