Custom Car Magnet

a DIY marketing idea
for your jewelry business

As a small business owner, I'm always on the lookout for effective and inexpensive ways to advertise my jewelry business.

Several months ago, I was asked to help design a custom car magnet for a local non-profit. Within two days, we had the magnets ready to sell. In fact, they were so popular that the non-profit sold out in minutes.

I wondered why I couldn't use this same principle to advertise my jewelry business.

I did a little research and discovered that you can buy printable magnets for your inkjet printers. Ah-ha - a DIY solution!

I visited my local office supply store and purchased the printable magnet paper. Five sheets of printable magnet paper cost me less than $15.00.

I went home and created a simple and quick design with my favorite graphics program. I quickly realized that I would be able to print two magnets per sheet if the design was 8" by 5" in size.

I printed off a sheet containing two magnets, and then I cut the design out. After that, I lacquered both magnets to provide weather protection.

Currently both my husband and I have the magnets displayed on the rear of our cars. They're positioned so the driver behind us at a red light can view them and provide maximum advertising for my jewelry business!
