(London)
Last autumn I went Origin: The London Craft Fair, the biggest fair of its kind in England.
The idea was to get a special present for my mum's 60th birthday so I took my dad and my twin sister along with me.
We were really impressed with all the stalls and ended up choosing a hand made wooden box and a pair of bauble shaped earrings made out of vintage beads that had been created by a German designer. We were quite shocked at the prices (much higher than in the shops) but realised that the quality and originality was worth it.
We chose handcrafted because it felt more special and because we wanted a nice day out together instead of a stressful shopping trip. We had a lovely day out and were really happy with what we got.
I think an interesting but pleasant location encouraged us to go along. Also the fact that it was in the center of London made it easy for us.
The sellers pretty much left us to ourselves which meant we didn't feel pressurised into buying but it was great to have them around to ask questions and let us know more if were were interested.
