Hi, my name is Neena - I live in the UK and am a doctor, turned handmade jewellery maker.

I always loved jewellery, but never thought I had a creative bone in my body until one day I went to a beading class - this has now spiralled into wire work, precious metal clay and polymer clay.

I lived in India for over 28 years, and a lot of my jewellery shows its origins from the sub continent - however I have been in the UK since 1989, and I like my jewellery to be worn with Western outfits, and to capture the ethos of both worlds if at all possible.

Jewellery making has taken over my waking, and some of my sleeping hours - I fall asleep thinking up ways to make a particular design work.

I am fussy about finishing touches and don't leave bits of wire hanging around - all neat and tidy - unless I am making a deliberately 'messy' look - which I adore.

I took some photography lessons, and from being an IT phobe, have set up my own website and put together a collection of necklaces and other items.

My main fetish is the statement necklace - I simply adore them - will make a pair of earrings happily, and many friends have availed of that service (free I might add), but it is the show piece necklace I love.

I wear my jewellery to work, and get loads of compliments - would love to be able to set my pieces free into the wider world, so they can put some zing into other peoples' lives - that would really make me happy.

Beautiful Jewelry
by: Pegi

Hi Neena,
Your work is gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. I too focus on wire and Metal Clay but have not done much in jewelry with polymer clay. However, I have created some pieces made from porcelain and white stoneware.
I wish you great sales on your work.

From doctor to artist
by: Rena

Neena, your work is truly gorgeous and unique!

Your talented doctor's hands are also artist's hands.

That's funny you never realized you had creative talent - I bet that in the medical field your creativity often made all the difference for the people you helped.

I love your wirework and the Nature elements you include in your designs!

Thanks so much for sharing your artistry and your story.

Hi, thanks for featuring me on your pages - just one thing - am still an OBGYN - helps pay for my obsession with jewellery making. I am so glad you and your readers like my designs - gives me a sense of validation. Thanks for giving me a forum

I love your jewellery, it really speaks to me. I have just been bitten by the jewellery making bug and still experimenting with my own style and find your range inspiring. Good luck with getting your jewellery into the wider world.
