Better Etsy than Wal-Mart

by Leanne L. Kirk

I have bought jewelry online several times in both eBay and Etsy. I prefer Etsy because it feels like the sellers there offer better items and it's like shopping in an online boutique.

I rarely buy anything over $50 or anything under $8. I want it to be high quality and am afraid that anything under $8 is going to look cheap when I receive it. The $50 necklace I bought was personalized and represented my 3 children, my husband, and myself.

I buy jewelry that I think I will have a chance to wear often.

I buy from Etsy because it's hip. When someone asked where I got it I can say "I bought it in a little boutique from Etsy, it's handcrafted." It sounds a lot better than "I bought it at Wal-Mart!"

So far all the handmade jewelry I have bought has been for me, with the exception of one little silver charm shaped like a dog for a friend.

I don't usually buy more than one thing from the same person unless they offered free shipping on additional items - that is very important to me.

Hope this helps you!

Love Etsy:)
by: Cynthia

I love Etsy because the Sellers are so nice and You don't see your self coming and going OOAK and that is a Great Thing. I believe that Jewelry should make a personal statement for the one that buys the piece and the one that makes the piece. If I made the piece I loved it so much that I want to Share the piece with others and That is why I want to sell my Jewelry to others. Thank you for being there to help us out:)
