I firmly believe that it takes advertising to promote sales for a jewelry business.

All the other vendors carry antiques and collectibles.
I am the only vendor who is present on a regular basis. I'm there because I use the space as my studio as well as a shop, which is asking a lot of a 10 by 15 foot booth:

But it works. My problem was that while my regular customers and word-of-mouth brought customers to me, few others realized that there was a shop for handcrafted jewelry in amongst the antiques.

I decided to use a yard sign. There are online vendors that regularly offer free or reduced prices for printing.
I chose one, and for a very reasonable cost of less than $40 (including shipping & handling) I ordered 2 signs, printed on both sides. One sign is placed out front each day that we are open.
I would love to have had these signs when I was selling at outdoor craft fairs.

Author JoAnne Green of DL Creations has her jewelry studio and sales shop in a permanent booth in an antique mall. Find out how JoAnne got into making jewelry - I loved her story. JoAnne also sells her jewelry in her DL Creations Artfire shop.
