Addicted to Jewelry Design!

Earrings are my MOST favorite to make!

Earrings are my MOST favorite to make!

Honestly.....having this addiction is perfectly alright with me! :-) I have been making jewelry since I was 10 watching my Aunt and Grandmother make jewelry, hairclips and other cool crafts in the 80's and selling them to stores.

I will never forget the giant, cool colored beads found in Providence RI that were so 80's!

My own designs have a wide range of inspirations but I mostly work with Vintage repurposing and reproduction from all era's, for all tastes!

I started an Etsy site a year ago and now I have been doing home parties and that is the MOST fun!!!

Selling online is fine, I can't complain; but seeing my creations which are hard to part with in the first place, on a beautiful woman who makes it her own, well there is just something so special about that!

Don't you just truly get SO excited to see your pieces on somebody?

I would love any feedback on how to really market my parties.

I find I am successful with sales when I do host but hosting isn't as often as I like.

All of the creations and sites posted here are amazing.

I love reading and learning about what inspires other artists and how everything is one of a kind!

You are all an inspiration to me! Thank you!

Your work is gorgeous

Neillee, your enthusiasm is so contagious! :o)

Also, I visited your Etsy shop and wow - your work is such an appealing blend of vintage and must-have-it style.

Love the things you're making - and how you photograph and display them too.

I so agree about seeing your creations on customers who love them! To me the best is when you run into one of your customers unexpectedly and see them wearing your jewelry just because they love it.

Thank you so much for joining in the conversation here and introducing yourself - and your lovely jewels!

THANK YOU!

Hey Neillee,
Firstly congratulations on your beautiful jewellery, the "disco victorian" earrings are so cool.
Your passion really shows in your work and your comments.
I agree, it is such a great feeling when you see someone wearing your designs.
I often see the teachers at my daughter's school wearing my creations, and one day I honestly started to say "I love that bracelet", when I realised it was one of mine!!
Good to hear you enjoy your parties, I think sometimes it's more fun for us than the customers, as we get great face-to-face feedback.

Keep up the lovely work.

Your enthusiasm is fantastic! I feel as you do, it is difficult to part with each and every piece I create, and they each mean a great deal to me! I looooove seeing my work on people who you have stated "make it their own" and I can see how fabulous they feel wearing what they have purchased...it is what makes me the happiest in this venture!

A suggestion, when you are not finding hosts enough, and you truly enjoy doing home shows, don't be afraid to host an Open House in your own home. I do this in the spring (to show my new line) and at the holidays (for gift giving). They are large, but that's okay because it's in my home I can take as much time as I like setting up and making it look wonderful!

It's more of a social event with snacks and drinks, and no one feels really pressured to purchase, they are coming to be social!
Good luck!

Hey there!

I am from the Boston area too (well, Metrowest) we should bead sometime!!
I do home parties but haven't in a while due to the birth of my daughter and getting back in the swing of things.
But I did do what is popular now called holiday home parties. Needham had a huge one,in someone's home with multiple vendors. Of course if it's in home most people are invitation only but the turnout to these is good.
I have had a booking from an open house too.
Do you like or do games at your parties?? I am on the fence about them. I do them but an not enjoying them lately:(
