Jewellery and fine arts in general, have always been a great passion to me. It comes with me wherever I go and yes, even when I am travelling during my holidays.
There I am relaxing on a beach or strolling in some quaint village and all of a sudden something catches my eyes. Sometimes it is its color, other times its texture, but the result is always the same: a new piece of jewellery is born!
It's happened so many times, but let me just tell you about last year's experience:
Last June I traveled to beautiful Manitulin Island in north Ontario. It was a fishing trip, jewellery was certainly not on the agenda, when in a little shop I spotted some very interesting stones.
I enquired about them and I discovered that those were fossils found on the island. They were not shining or brightly colored but had charming shapes and texture.
I was wondering what I could do with them when I remembered a teenager boy who came to my booth at an art and craft show a month before. He spent a long time browsing my jewelry looking really taken by them.
Before leaving he asked me if I had any jewellery for men and I felt so sorry to have to say no.
That day my new line of necklaces for men with a beautiful fossil pendant was born!
It was a great hit and it sold out before I could take a picture of the necklace. As we are planning another fish trip this year I hope to share the pic with you soon.
