UPDATE!
Start Selling More Jewelry Online

I've been working hard on my upcoming book, which reveals exciting (and very effective) strategies for marketing your jewelry on the Web.

The title is "Sell More Jewelry Online with Social Marketing".

In this book I take you step by step through easy strategies for building up a stream of very interested online jewelry customers.

You won't have to pay for any advertising, or rely on Google or any other search engine to send jewelry customers to you. You'll have much more control over your volume of customers.

And it doesn't involve MySpace.

This book will be available sometime in March. You'll be able to get it in your choice of formats - a downloadable ebook, or a spiral-bound printed book.

In the meantime I hope you enjoy this...

Your Profitable Jewelry Business

Sneak Preview from My Upcoming Book:

"Sell More Jewelry Online
with Social Marketing"

by Rena Klingenberg

The key to selling more jewelry by any method can be summed up in seven words:

“Build relationships, and jewelry sales will follow.”

In any type of sales situation, your jewelry sells itself when you focus on simply building genuine relationships with people.

Why?

Because we humans prefer to buy from people we know and trust. We like to buy from friends, or from people who have done something nice for us. We like them, we trust them, and we want to support them in return.

And if we're buying handcrafted items, it's especially rewarding to have met the artist. If we've made a connection with the artist, their work is more special and significant to us than items created by people we don't know.

The bottom line: It's human nature to buy (and to keep returning to buy more) from people we know.

So if you want to sell more of your jewelry online, you'll need to locate the people who are most likely to buy your jewelry - and get to know them on the Web.

This strategy is called "social marketing". It's simple, fun - and extremely effective.

Here's what you do:

  1. First, decide who your target market is – what type of people are most likely to be interested in your unique jewelry? (Don't worry – I'll guide you through this step.)
  2. Then you start doing two things:

    - Social Networking: Find out where your most-likely customers are online, and start mingling with them, bonding with them, and participating in the online “conversations” that interest them.

If you focus on simply building genuine friendships and shared interests with these people - and leave all marketing tactics at the door - your jewelry business should grow by leaps and bounds.

(In Chapter 4 of this book I take you step-by-step through Social Networking strategies, where to find your customers online - and secrets of getting more customers with less effort.)

    - Social Linking: Build links leading to your online jewelry business – placed nearly everywhere your intended customers are on the Web.

This process enables you to create natural jewelry traffic sources that won't go away – bringing you more of the visitors who are most likely to become your customers.

(In Chapter 5 of this book I'll show you the best places to have links to your jewelry business, and how to put them there - plus some social traffic-generating strategies that very few people know about.)

As you'll see, Social Linking is very different from – and much more effective than – the old-fashioned “link exchanges” with other webmasters.

In a nutshell, these two activities - Social Networking and Social Linking - are what social marketing is all about.

It's really very simple. It works brilliantly, and it costs nothing but your time.

In this book you'll learn, step by step, the specifics of creating your personal social marketing strategy to sell more of your jewelry online.

You'll also discover the websites and online tools you can use in your social marketing campaign – along with some success secrets of my own.

And best of all, the tactics you'll learn in this book won't cost you anything. Everything you're about to learn will bring you better results than advertising would – and it's all completely free to do.

If you apply what you learn in this book, you won't have to worry about competition. So relax and learn – and then start your own successful social marketing campaign!

NOTE: "Sell More Jewelry Online with Social Marketing" will be available in March 2008!

Neat Jewelry-Related Website

Our neat site this week is a fun one: ChickBait Jewelry, amusingly crafted from fishing tackle.

I've often thought that most of what's in a fishing tackle box could easily be used as jewelry components - and evidently the Chicks who design the ChickBait line thought so too!

I especially like their clever snap swivel bracelet and skinny minnow earrings. As a side benefit, these pieces may come in handy if you're interested in reeling in a keeper! :o)
