Your Profitable Jewelry Business:
The Power of a Positive Vendor
by Rena Klingenberg
Not long ago, my mom and I were strolling through a craft fair and entered a booth where a wood carver was selling his handmade wooden bowls.
We loved his work, but I think what led us to purchase two of his pieces was the positive energy this gentleman radiated.
He was one of the most upbeat vendors I've ever met, and he was having an absolutely wonderful time - making friends with everyone who entered his booth, and enthusiastically explaining his art to everyone.
He was positive that people would love his work and buy his bowls - so they did.
If you've ever read "The Power of Positive Thinking," this wood carver completely personifies it. (My family teases me that I'm a "Pollyanna," but I think this guy has me beat!)
While he was packaging up the bowls we purchased from him, we received another dose of his positive thinking:
He explained that he's keeping a list of all the people who buy his work, so that when he becomes famous (thereby making our bowls really valuable), he can contact us to let us know.
Not if he becomes famous, but when.
My mom and I have no doubt that we'll be hearing from this gentleman someday, notifying us in his enthusiastic way that yes, he's famous now and that we made a good investment in his artistry!
He's positive it's going to happen - so we are too.
