Important:
Update on the
Home Based Jeweler's Showcase

The new Home Based Jeweler's Showcase blog is an excellent, free opportunity to promote your jewelry business.

It's also a fantastic place to find other jewelry artists to network with, trade blog content or comments with, promote each other's work, etc. I know a good many of the artists who have listed their businesses on the Home Based Jeweler's Showcase - and I can promise you they're true gems!

Rita Juhlin, founder and publisher of the Home Based Jeweler's Showcase blog, reports that the day after the blog got listed, it received over 1500 page views - a LOT of traffic for a brand new site.

Rita adds, "Get on the bandwagon, you jewelers - we want this party to rock and roll!!!  Be sure you sign up as a follower; that helps get all of us traffic too. I want to thank you all for all your kind words, thank you’s and verbal smiles. I am really enjoying the emails too.  Our network will only get bigger and better!"

To get listed - please email Rita, at HomeBasedJewelers @ gmail.com .

To sign up as a follower - scroll down to the bottom of the Home Based Jeweler's Showcase where it says "Followers", and add yourself by using the Google Friend Connect button.

Your Profitable Jewelry Business:

Building Your Business Around
Your Strengths and Interests

by Rena Klingenberg

From personal experience, I believe you can sell a lot more jewelry simply by building your business around your unique strengths and interests.

For example, my natural tendency is to focus my attention and energy intensely on one person at a time, rather than participate in a group.

I'd rather go out for lunch with one friend than go to a party. And if I do go to a party, I usually spend most of my time having deep conversations with one person at a time.

So it's not surprising that although I like selling my jewelry at shows and parties, I LOVE selling jewelry one-on-one at private showings. It enables me to take my time to work with customers individually, giving them my full attention.

It's much more personal, and it's a perfect fit with my natural tendencies for relating to people.

In all aspects of my jewelry business, I find that I'm much more efficient and successful when I choose to do things I'm good at and love doing.

And conversely, I'm the Queen of Procrastination and Unfinished Tasks when it comes to things I don't like and am not good at doing!

So I focus on making conscious decisions about everything in my business, to make sure that I'm continually building it around things I love.

Whenever I'm faced with a choice, I stop and consider all the options - then choose the one that makes me feel the best.

I think it's made my business more successful, and definitely more fun.

And isn't "having fun" one of the main reasons you started your jewelry business? :o)

Neat Jewelry-Related Website

Today's neat site is Seedlings: Jewelry Because.

What do I love about this site? In addition to great jewelry, artist Sharon Paradiso has a clean, simple, beautiful page design.

Sharon has also done something else I love - she's put up a home page of her own, and from it she links to her Etsy shop, her blog, her Twitter and FaceBook accounts, her Etsy team blog, etc.

That way her customers and fellow jewelers can always find Sharon at her Seedlings: Jewelry Because home page - and she's free to switch to a different storefront, other social networking sites, etc., without losing any traffic to her site - just by changing the links to the rest of her Web presence.

Sell Your Jewelry Online

No matter how you sell your jewelry online, you have to do your own marketing if you want to make sales.

Using the step-by-step strategies you'll learn in my book, Social Networking: Sell Your Jewelry Online the New Way, you can easily develop your own online customer base, without competition from other jewelry artists.
